Services and classes are offered weekdays and evenings, Monday through Thursday.
Through the generosity of our community, all programs are offered FREE of charge.

Health & Well-Being Programs

These programs assist survivors, their families and caregivers in processing their cancer experience, enhance coping, increase overall self-care and management of stress, and support a mind-body-spirit approach to healing and well-being.

All yoga classes at Wellness House are open to all levels, gentle, and emphasize working at your own pace:

Gentle Yoga combines easy stretching with restorative poses to reduce stress, restore balance and renew spirit.

Chair Yoga  is another gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair, or standing using a chair for support. Originally created for individuals with mobility challenges, it is a great practice for everyone, as it deepens flexibility and strengthens personal body awareness. Perfect for beginners, chair yoga is open to all levels.

Yoga Nidra is a powerful healing practice that promotes physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Learn techniques during this special evening class that help quiet the mind and eliminate stress, anxiety, and depression.

Sound Meditation uses calming sound waves of crystal & Himalayan singing bowls, bells, chimes, and vocal tones to help participants unwind through the vibrations of sound.

Mindfulness Meditation utilizes mindfulness tools which have been shown to help individuals to reduce stress, find peace, improve relationships, gain emotional balance, and increase mental clarity.

Individual services are by appointment only, please call (410) 990-0941 or email for additional information.

Education Programs

These programs empower survivors, families, and caregivers by providing valuable information and practical tools to develop stronger healthier lifestyles, expand self-care, and enhance coping skills while navigating a journey through cancer.

Wellness House of Annapolis hosts educational seminars offered by dedicated professionals and subject-matter experts from the community, with the goal of promoting healthy living and quality of life. Past seminars have explored proton therapy, dental care, palliative and hospice care, nutrition, and much more.

Did you know that music has the power to relieve pain, stress, regulate breathing, and make everything feel all right? You can have a session with your very own therapeutic musician to help reduce stress and anxiety, regulate breathing, and even alleviate pain.

Discover the power of live therapeutic music! Wellness House has partnered with The Music for Healing and Transition Porgram, a school that teaches skilled musicians to use the language of music to create peaceful, healing environments.

These seminars, workshops, and cooking demonstrations help cancer patients and caregivers learn about the importance and healing properties of nutrition during their cancer journey.

Activities

Wellness House offers a safe place for connections between people experiencing cancer as patient, caregiver, or family member. These activities and gatherings are spaces for fun times and friendship where “people just get it.”

This group meets monthly on the second Thursday. Members (new and established) are invited to come to the Wellness House to pour their favorite cup of tea and connect with one another. This is a time to learn more about Wellness House services and ask questions (if you have any).

Our day is always brightened in the company of fun friends, laughter, and an engaging game of who knows what – Connect4? Quirkle? Uno?  Cards? or even a puzzle. It’s not the game, it’s the friendship!

New members welcome! The Wellness House Book Club meets monthly to discuss a book previously selected by one of the book club members. The book club is open to all WH members. Please call Wellness House at 410-990-0941 or see our weekly email blast to learn about upcoming book selections.

Whether it is making beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry, learning how to draw from an expert, or creating vision boards to express your goals and dreams, therapeutic art classes are a wonderful time to express yourself, laugh, chat, and connect with other members.

Wellness House hosts quarterly social gatherings for  members. Past gatherings have included survivorship luncheons, summer barbecues, and holiday socials. Please see our weekly email blast or our calendar to learn about upcoming events.
