The Month of March and COVID-19

Wellness House kicked off the month of March with a community gathering where personal stories about living with cancer were shared among some of our members, staff, and United Way of Central Maryland volunteers. See the video capturing this inspiring day here:

This event was followed quickly by the House closure due to social distancing and COVID-19. While we are sustaining our programs and services through online technology, we had to cancel one of our major community fundraising events, and we are uncertain about several of our other events. As a result, we have adjusted our fundraising approach, including applying for emergency state-funded and federally funded grants, in addition to more grants in general.

The Good News

In April, we kicked-off of a new social media marketing and fundraising campaign, which included the release of a new video series, highlighting the amazing stories of those touched by the presence of Wellness House in our community.

Take a moment to view our #NowMoreThanEver video series below. Hear messages of strength, hope and connection through cancer survivorship from survivors, caregivers and volunteers, as well as our founder, Dr. Kelly Sullivan.

How to Help

Please share these touching stories far and wide so that many more people will see the importance of sustaining our programs and services for our members within the community. We understand what a difficult time this is for everyone. Now more than ever, please donate today.
