Understanding Breast Reconstruction Surgery

Friday, September 23, 2016

12-1:00pm

You are invited to join an informal conversation about breast reconstruction surgery with Dr. Kelly Sullivan and Dr. Emily Clarke-Pearson of Sullivan Surgery and Spa.  Topics of discussion will include:

  • Reasons for the early involvement of the plastic surgeon to provide information BEFORE breast surgery to remove cancer.
  • Understanding breast reconstruction with implants versus reconstruction with one’s own tissue.
  • Understanding the stages of the breast reconstruction process including how the impact of radiation and chemotherapy can influence the reconstruction timeline, special considerations to discuss with your breast cancer team, and nipple reconstruction and/or tattooing.
